Collections, teams, and duplicates

Organize papers locally and collaborate with teams on Pro.

Collections

Collections group papers for projects or topics.

  1. In the sidebar Collections section, click +.
  2. Name the collection and confirm.
  3. Select papers and use Move to collection on the selection bar, or drag papers when the UI supports it.
  4. Click a collection name to filter the table to only its papers.

Unsorted in the sidebar shows papers that belong to no collection.

Local groups (offline)

While signed out, you may still create local groups in the sidebar for organization. Cloud teams and reviews require sign-in and Pro.

Teams (Pro)

  1. Sign in with an active Pro subscription.
  2. In the library sidebar, use Teams to create or select a team.
  3. Invite connections from the Friends panel or Account → Connections.
  4. Team libraries and systematic review projects live under the selected team.

Team owners can invite members; members accept invites from the Friends panel or Account page.

Duplicates

Avera detects duplicates by exact DOI and fuzzy title matching. It does not auto-merge.

  1. Select Duplicates in the sidebar.
  2. Review each group and the match explanation.
  3. Manually keep or trash papers as you prefer.

Use the CLI avera dedup list for scripting duplicate review (CLI).

Trash

Deleted papers go to Trash, not permanent delete. Open Trash, then Restore per row or in bulk. Empty trash only when you are sure you no longer need those references.

Research pools

Papers can be grouped into research pools associated with teams for screening imports. When importing into a review, you can pull from the library, a collection, or pool assignments.

See Systematic reviews for screening workflows.
