Browser connector, open access, and app preferences.
Open Settings from the left ribbon (/settings).
Browser connector
| Control | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Connection status | Whether Chrome can reach Avera via native messaging |
| Register native host | Fix or install the messaging host (common after dev extension ID changes) |
| HTTP connector (dev) | Localhost fallback with port (default 17342) and bearer token |
| Regenerate token | Invalidates previous HTTP tokens |
Production users normally rely on native messaging only. See Browser connector.
Open Access
| Control | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Auto-download | When importing a DOI without a PDF, attempt OA fetch |
| Unpaywall email | Email sent with Unpaywall API requests (required for polite pool access) |
Toggle auto-download off if you prefer manual PDF attachment only.
